when using final cut pro you will have to make sure that you import all the video clips you will be editing so therefore it wouldn't be that hard to find your specific clips.
when you double click the any video clips you have imported you can also than rename it so it can also be easy to find what clips you are looking for rather than wasting time going through all your videos.
also another way to keep things much simple while editing is to right click the video icon on one of the videos, a list of options will appear and where it is says "view list as" you go there and pick the size of how big you want your videos to be.
